we were never built to last

we were never built to last

A Poem by Rachel Myers

Come on skinny love

Just last the year

We didn’t even make it

To the ides of march

And they didn’t warn me

About the fourth of

February

And I can’t be around

You people

Because you’re pretending

You still exist

But you don’t

Exist

because didn’t you

Feel the earth stop too

It couldn’t have just been me

Don’t you know that

It pretty much just blew up
