A Poem by Georgia

I close my eyes.
I see your face.
But I walk the path alone.
I watch you move.
I see your smile.
But I walk the path alone.
I might say hi or walk on by and throw the feelings away.
It’s dark and cold,
As these memories unfold,
And I need you.

I see the truth.
I hide away.
But still I think of you.
I see the girl.
I know the end.
But still I think of you.
I realise as time goes by, I was never your type of girl.
It’s dark and cold.
As these memories unfold.
And I need you.

I see you talk.
I hear you laugh.
But I couldn’t do this yet.
I think you care.
I hear your words.
But I couldn’t do this yet.
Words over read, things never said, reality hits me hard.
It’s dark and cold.
As these memories unfold.
And I need you.

Then I hear the news that you’re out there somewhere with your friends and you’re drinking while my mind is here thinking. So it bursts in my head that you’re not right, not tonight and it’s breaking me down now you won’t be around. I look at your friends I should run away fast to the past or hide away here - always something to fear.

But it’s dark.
And it’s cold.
And the memories unfold.
I remember those days
I remember those names
I remember it all
And I need you
I need you
I need you here.
