re-birthday

re-birthday

A Poem by paper vanhite

i wish i could run out of breath

and embrace the grace of sweet death

to undo all of me that's left

and have a nice deep longing rest

i wish to be reborn

to be someone else every morn

to stare at the old and undo

then start over to begin anew

i guess i'm asking for a re-birthday

and let the past just wash away

under a new name and a new me

only then can i be free

give me the sign and say it's okay

let me know it's better to have a re-birthday
