A Country Cafe

I’m driving down from Asheville town on 25. I have no doubt, I have no fear and I feel alive.  The night is young, and the moon is high, the mountains speak and the doves, they cry.  I have my dreams and the stars are blazing in the sky.

I’m headed for a country café. I’ll play my song, for the joy of it, not pay. ‘Cause the people here are just pickers, too, they take old songs and make them new. Now I don’t care what the know-it-alls say.  I’m gonna share my dreams at the Ugly Mug Café, I’m proud to play for pickers at a country café, a country cafe
