A Poem by BookIt1357

Something straight from the heart. This goes out to Robert, my first heartbreak.

I wonder, I think,
“What could I have done?”
To keep you, to hold you,
So you wouldn’t run.
Could I have prevented
What we have become?

You say “Let’s be friends”
But I can’t handle that.
There’s no way for you
To see past the mask.
I didn’t know anyone
Could hurt me like that.

My perception of you
Will forever be marred.
With one simple message
That hit me so hard.
I still don’t believe
How you tore me apart.

It's ok :)

I really love it whenever it's this raw. Emotions flow like a raging river.
I know you can still go deeper. Delve in to that pain you are keeping.

Awwwww! I can feel the strong, intense emotions in this piece. It also flows together well. A very relatable piece. Great job :)
