falling is easy

It's easy to fall, rising takes practice.

I

i know how to fall from grace

with a mistake

or a promise

or a heartbreak;

 

i know how to fall apart

with a thought

or a feeling

or a memory.

 

i know how to fall prey

to an addiction

or an emotion

or a belief;

 

i know how to fall off the wagon

with just one glass.

 

 

II

falling comes too easily,

 

i know how to fall over backwards

offering money

or love

or forgiveness;

 

i even know how to fall in love

with a word

or a picture

or a person.

 

 

falling is easy:

teach me how to rise.

inspirational and thought provoking sentiment. falling does seem easy for some because we long to let go of control and follow all impulse; however how do we rise when we never thought to fall? makes me realize that perhaps we should be a bit more careful when we jump in with our eyes closed without thinking of the consequences of our hearts.
