My Dear Friend

My Dear Friend

A Poem by perfectlyadapted
"

the longing, oh, the longing

"
I see you there in the shadows
A hint of light against your face
A trace of a smile contrasted by
A sad gaze that passes through the darkness
Blue rays faint happy days
Remembering my care free ways
Looking up into a bright sky
Days I'd die for
to live again and be a kid
to run through grass and roll down hills
laugh till it burns
it hurt so good
to think back on yesteryears
when my biggest fear was
what lurked in the shadows,
hello my dear friend
Nostalgia
