A Hurting Child

When you look to the dark sky and see a point of light,

Do you think you see a phoenix or just a blinking firefly?

When you look into the eyes of a hurting mind,

Do you see a lost cause or a child ready to fight.

When they grip your hands and quiver their lips,

Do you turn away your gaze or ready to fight their demons.

This poem really made me think. The topic you chose to cover is so vital. I would like to think I would help the child. The words flowed really well for me except for in the fifth line when it goes "and and." I really like the word choice as well. Great writing!
