Someone to Love You

Someone to Love You

A Poem by Phil Hubbard
"

If I were blind, would I feel the beauty inside you when we met?

"

If I were blind
would I feel the
beauty inside you
when we met?

If I couldn’t see
your size
your shape
your plain features
your complexion
your purple hair
and could only read your aura
would I feel only cold and gray?

Or would I feel brilliant colors
that warmed my face and heart?

If I couldn’t see that you are
slender and pretty
with hidden cuts in secret places
cuts that hurt but ease a greater pain
would I feel only your sadness?

If I were blind
how would I know
that you ache to be loved
and to love someone in return?

That within you is the capacity
to be good and kind and passionate?

If I could hold you in my arms
I would whisper
“Find your inner strength
to BE that person hidden inside you”

And blind or unblind
your one true love will find you

No review? This has deep feelings! It's all too sad how some people get treated for the way they look! If we were blind, I wonder would it be different too! Great poem!
