some past experiences worming its way into this one. not a rant though so don't mistaken it for one

Whenever we are out

You always get the attention.

I always feel left out

I’m always never mentioned.

Its not your fault…really

God made you beautiful

But damn, you over shadow me

Making social events woeful.

I don’t crave the attention

I’m okay at that end

BUT I want some recognition.

I have a name, its not “that friend”

i could add more

but that would feel cynical

you are my buddy

and in this world, that's critical.

Great poem man. I had a buddy sort of like that. He wasn't handsome so much as charasmatic & he knew like a gazzion people & sometimes it was hard being in his shadow..
