My light bulb

My light bulb

A Poem by nigrum homonculus
"

its funny how we take the most little things for granted.

"

I lit up your darkness,

Because that was your intention.

You was cold, you was grieving.

I was the warmth that you believed in.

but then I  began to flicker.

Weakened by my own problems

And instead of your support,

You replaced me. no rapport

Now I’m the cold and grieving.

Was that your intention?

Now I’m the vital help,

That you will fail to ever mention.

like the title because I could just imagine you looking up at the bulb contemplating a verse or two....the light bulb expression usually refers to new innovations and breakthroughs. I do relate to your conversational style and colloquel tongue, I can even hear the tone. I like this poem by the way...
