cardboard knight

cardboard knight

A Poem by Worms
"

once I had my Dulcena

"

sometimes I feel like a cardboard knight

riding around the land on a donkey

windmills are what I choose to fight

but I have all faith in my lackey

I roam around in search of her

in every valley and cavern

but my companion he is fond of beer

so we stop at every tavern

I can't stop these giants for they are too large

I cannot nearly match their size

for it is near to that of a barge

however fight them I must if I am to find my prize

I cannot keep up life like this

she has left me behind

I will not try to steal her bliss

it is my own that I must find

alas it was not always so

for once I had my Dulcena

Great Ode to Don.
My imagination ran wild.

The way you've gone about this is certainly well done, but I felt that the interjections of the couplet abruptly stopped what a very smooth flow. I dunno, though, to each his own.
Don Quixote ftw.
