Dragon Polishes the Pearl

Dragon Polishes the Pearl

A Poem by Picture of Poetry

Dragon polishes the

pearl of life.

The pearl that gives beauty

to the dark filled caverns

of mystery.

The pearl that shines and

shimmers in the light

of the moon.

Dragon polishes the moon

of light.

The great smiling face

that stares upon the

sleeping land.

The moon that glows

and glimmers its light

on the lake of

mystery, curiosity, and wonder.

Dragon polishes his heart

of gold.

The gold heart that

twinkles inside of him

like a lonely star

in the night sky.

It is filled with happiness and

it is what makes the dragon

who he is on the inside

and on the outside.

Dragon polishes the world,

holding it gently in his scaly palm,

gently swaying a soft gray cloth of

calm serenity over it wiping away the evil...

Dragon poishes his weak soul.

His soul of a clouded love...

His soul...

A dreary fog drowning a maze of hope...

its all good.
only qualm is the light of the moon to dragon polishes the moon of light. i'd take the whole "moon of light" part out as it kinda breaks the piece with a sence of repetition. the whole piece uses repetition to great effect but that part just stuck out.

that aside. it's fantastic. the imagery is deep and vivid. the voice remains clear and present and once again you create a subtle air of mystery within your work.
well done.

THIS IS WONDERFUL. I love the fantasy element of the dragon, that's just beautiful!! I also love the comparison of the pearl & the moon. I'm guessing the pearl represents the moon? That's such beautiful imagery. You're so creative, I'm jealous! ;3;

Okay!! Where did this come from? I think this poem is great. You have a lot of potential. keep at it. Just a tip...check the spelling on "that" in the second stanza and "moon" in the fifth. All in all, it's very good work!!

This was pretty dang cool. I like poetry and I like fantasy books, but rarely do I like fantasy poetry. This was an exception to that trend. I really enjoyed this. I thought that the way you used Dragon as a name and not just an animal was really effective. I also could see this as not just talking about a dragon, but rather the force that's kind of our guardian, whatever that might be. I also liked the name of the poem. I always enjoy it when authors take a line from their poem and make it the title. Good job! I look forward to reading more of your writing!
