The Grand Puzzle of Life

The Grand Puzzle of Life

The pieces fly in a jumbled could inside my mind.
I try to put them together,
to figure out the mysteries of the world.

Why are we here?
What happens after death?
Why do people fall in love?
Why is there crime?

But whenever I think I'm getting close to an answer,
I find extra pieces that shatter my theory
and I'm back to the beginning, an empty slat.

Or I find that I'm missing pieces
so the small patches look alright
but the big picture is incomplete.

But then I figured one thing out
a puzzle that I can do.
There are just some things that are minds
aren't meant to understand.

Some things, to me will always be a
twisted, mixed-up, jumbled, jigsaw

I love this poem! This is something I'm talking about with myself and sometimes in my poems and stories and I think everybody can relate to this poem in at least one way.
For the technical part, I love love how you made the word puzzle dispersed, that's really great and underlines the last stanza.
In the second stanza I believe that moving "What happens after death?" to the end would be much more better as you would have there the repetition of 'why' and question about afterlife is something we tend to think about as we get older and is somehow the underling question.
Nice work!
