Dragons

Dragons

A Poem by Scott H.
"

They do exist, just not always in the ways that we might think

"

“Dragons”

I cannot possibly
Believe that
Dragons
Do not exist when
I see them every day,
The ones who griff
Their way stealthily
From the shadows and
Into our bodies,
Breathing fire
Into our hearts,
Rousing the wrath and
Fanning the passion.
There is one who sleeps
Precariously
In me,
Ready to go off at
The slightest provocation,
Ready to take wing and soar
To clandestine
Destinations,
Ready to protect
With tooth and claw.
Yes, I know the truth about
Dragons –
Sometimes they burn us
To cinders,
Sometimes they carry us
Away.

I love Dragons for my own reasons, I really admire the way you capture the image / essence and weave into the human condition (yours too!)...

If you go to Wales, there's nearly always mist on the mountain tops - we used to say this was their breath..

This is a really good poem.
It paints an excellent picture of dragons.
When I was little I use to always play that I was a dragon while my friends were faeries.
But that's besides the point.
This poem really well done.

This is a good poem. I've always enjoyed dragons, and I like the symbolism of such a powerful creature representing our inner feelings.

Good job, keep on writing.
