The Little Girl Lost & The Little Girl Found

The Little Girl Lost & The Little Girl Found

This was written whilst studying similar titled poems by William Blake, so I decided to put my own modern spin on the "lost and found" concept

The Little Girl Lost

Riding on the lion's back,
Dancing through the crashing waves.
I laugh and smile all day long
As I explore the stygian caves

I want to swim through murky waters
And capture monsters far beneath.
I want to roll through open fields
And breathe the wondrous, wild heath.

But my parents weep and scream
And drag me from the water's edge
And smack me with a fearful hand,
To me their fears and worries pledge.

But I know the caves are safe,
And the monsters will not bite my hand.
So let my parents weep and worry
As I explore the wild land…

The Little Girl Found

After days and days of searching, the little girl was found,
Her soiled, bloody, broken bones dead upon the ground.
Just a few days previous, by the crashing waves,
An old man saw a little girl inside the stygian caves…
