Another August Afternoon

Another August Afternoon

A Poem by poet2angels (lynda)
"

love

"

So many Springs passed
like sand through my fingers

moments waiting to blossom,
but wilting before my eyes
leaving a trail of petals;

sweet scent
of dreams to follow;

counting constellations
while clandestine thoughts
whispered like wind
through silken tresses, and tears
spilled upon your river's reflection.

One Summer you sang
serenade to my heart

while another August afternoon

words on wings
cascaded from misty mountains,

above the clouds
something soared

and I knew this was home.
