Sarah

Sarah

A Poem by poetcheel

Different colors, Different things
May I wonder what this is?

That particular color reminded me of a person--
it had a meaning beneath the painting
a freedom, worth mentioning since then

Sounds of a war, she was escaping from
Big bruises in all her body
No signals of other souls

Colors and Colors
was all she could see--
Just figures and lines
in the dead sea

Missing people all around the country
Others-- hiding in their rooms
Wishing for a miracle

Some lives lost--
became their hope to keep surviving
it was all they had left

Miles and Miles
away from home,
never gave up on her feet
--Where this could be her lead,
to a greater place than home

Ending up in a small village called Nitzanei Sinai
Fought like never before
Ending everything here, now and then

Sarah was the name,
identification ID all crocked and dirty--
of a little girl that had to become a warrior for her own salvation…

by the time she found her own freedom, her own salvation, she no longer who herself...
she wondered where Sarah had gone.
the bruises...a war....sounds like spousal abuse...and her being able somehow to escape that war.
intensity here.
