winter's invasion

winter's invasion

A Poem by Poetic Beauty

Glittering
Glittering
Falling
from the sky
Rapidly
Speeding
Snow on the fly

Spilling
Spilling
Downward
to below
Covering
Blanketing
The world below

Blinding
Blinding
Whitening
Fragile eyes
Transforming
Converting
Blue skies

Freezing
Freezing
Biting
Fragile skin
Blowing
Growing
Remodeling begins

Gnawing
Gnawing
Clawing
Scratching the ground
Spreading
Clinging
Invading everything around.

Winter never warmed a sole (intended), but it is a mighty delight for the eye. You did a fabulous job of describing winter's invasion. For me, it has a way of blanketing the world with a whisper of silence and shifts to sight spectacular.

I agree that it can be a "pain in the a*s glitter." As long as I don't have to go out in it, I'm ok.. read more

Yeah, this is nice. Remodeling is a word I never would of thought of. Right now, the heat is sweltering so although I hate biting cold, I could use it right now.

Nice writing. :)

It's hot here too. This poem is from a couple years ago.
Winter does seem such a brutal beast, bringing its blinding, biting chill. The flow of your words hits the soul with such a fierce, cold rhythm. Powerful.

I'm not a fan of winter, but I do love the awing beauty of the scenery it makes upon different landscapes. I love seeing the glitter of new fallen snow or the dirty, slushy snow after it's been trodded on. Snow is such a pretty thing, but winter is a Devil all it's own.

Yep. You are welcome...:)....
Aahhh, so beautiful. I love winter, and you captured it very nicely. Just be sure to check your spelling, which is the only correction of which I can think.

Thanks. I will look it over.
Ahhhh yes I am having flashbacks to my winter days in Pennsylvania… the first snow of winter is always beautiful, then they become annoying.

Snow absolutely good for nothing
It sounds like a landscape falling from the sky.

I'm tired of it too.

Al

Snow can be beautiful but it is a pain in the rear.
