Soulful storm

My mind ponders thoughts like thunder
Rumbling in many directions
Shaking my internal foundation
With deep subconscious reflection

Soul searching rises collectively
Springing forth out of the raging storm
Rejuvenating a stagnant life
With a spark of mindful lightning

The blustery thoughts bellow loudly
Whipping around the tender body
Trying to cause discord in life
But inner peace quiets the mind

A downpour of penetrating rain
Cleanses the dusty soul completely
Washing away yesterday’s stress
Leaving the aura shining bright

I like the way you make an analogy from thunder to one mood and penetrating rain to another mood.
the blustery thoughts like wind whipping around, but in this case causing discord in your life. The most important part here that your "inner peace quiets the mind". Very thoughtful piece.

I do like quite a few of these lines " My mind ponders..."
and " ... mindful lightning " echoes that first line.

And, I guess, the whole piece using a weather storm as an extended metaphor with " inner peace " perhaps being the eye of this particular storm is very good.

But, unfortunately, I'm a bit of a rhyming freak and (bearing that in mind) think that that first line set the scene for a rollicking good read.


But It isn't any detriment to your work, of course, this lack of rhyme, it's just the way my mind works.
And, of course, you brought the whole piece to a satisfactory conclusion and that's worth something in anybody's book.

Barleygirl would've been all other this and you would've received a very generous response far more detailed than mine but, then, she's brighter than me.

i love how things look and feel after a storm. it throws its tantrum. i love how the speaker stands firm through it and is rejuvenated. to stand firm is a wonderful thing. and that 'aura shining bright' so powerful and hopeful ... :)
