Safety

Safety

A Poem by Emily Dickinson Jr.
"

A poem about a child's nightmare and life. PLZ READ

"

The monsters chase my dreams

They catch them, and they chase me

I look for a loved one; A safety

It isn't to be

Its only monsters

I spot a person!

But they transform too

They're everywhere!

I awake to shivers

And know, its not real

But just the same, I shake

I long for the comfort of paternal arms

Which I'm forbidden to enter

So I roam

Oh yes, I roam

With tremors down my spine

And with not, but my cotton animal

To protect me

The goosebumps raise

I know, even so young, I know

If they follow through my mind

I can leave every hope behind

There is no safety here
