Drunk

A poem about the tragedy alchohol can rein on your life. How blinding it can be and how people can't coddle your addiction forever. Something has to give.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The bottle is my best friend.

 

" I though that was, I  "

 

It makes all my pain go away.

 

"   I bet you can't feel "

"  I bet you can't cry "

 

Nothing could go wrong.

 

"  You used to be so strong ... "

 

I'm not hurting anybody

 

"   Look, Love, in the ruddy ditch... "

"  Call your parents "

"  They won't answer... "

 

It's normal!

I'm youthful, Im cool!

 

"  Look at the roadways on your skin "

 

I'll quit.

 

"  You said that last year. "

"  And the year before, and the year before.. "

 

Baby, I'm sorry.

 

" No, your not. "

" Your really not.. "

 

Oh, s**t ..

Baby. I'm s**t.

I'v been.

 

"  Yes, you are, and I'm gone."

"  Don't come near me again "

Drinking destroys people.

Those who it doesn't kill, it makes them addicts.

Those who it doens't make addicts, it robs their lives. They can only be themselves when the've had a 'nip'

Not sure. I actually believe most people, in a relationship, try to fix them eventually realizing they can't. I love the message, I just think there is more pain and time involved for the one that loves an alcoholic.

she did this poem symbolizes a long relationship. Each line symbolizes several years. Cudnt you tell from the transition in the beginning from betrayed confusion, to trying to get him to see reason to finally, determination to save her heart and force him to see reason
