Slytherin

Slytherin

A Poem by Emily Dickinson Jr.

The house of cleverness and wit

The best the sorting hat can pick

Has emerald ties

Brains and political ties

Be the best and never get caught

And all of the secrecy is never for nought

Our motto allows for never alone

We unite hand and hand

We're no golden drone

We keep our tradition pure

Samhein is practiced

For him and for her

Our emerald and silver trimmed

Greatness is always assured

While a wide-brimmed hat

Sorts little heads once unsure

Into the house of ambition

For once you're a snake

A snake you are

Forever more

I like this....nice to see some love for the house of Slytherin. I do agree with changing the double "ties"...yes the word can have a double meaning, but you used it the same way here.

Overall, really sound grammatically and structurally. Great visualizations as well.

ooh if you do tell me I'll definately check it out :-)
hi Hannah, Needed to read you to decide if i was happy. I love this. I like to take stories or tales and turn them into poetry-see 'Promethian I am', 'Lorein Ley' and 'Rewriting' for example. I would craft it so it flows a bit better and definately change these lines as you rhyme with the same word:
Has emerald ties
Brains and political ties

I'm a HP fan myself, and this was a great way to portray that best of all houses! Great work on this one, you flowed well and rhymed smoothly.

thats what I thought lol :-D
This is cool! I'm not a complete harry potter fan but I know enough to get this. I'm not sure if the second "ties" is suppose to be "lies" and I think "alows" is suppose to be "allows." But other than those few minor things this is great!
