Sexual Harrasment

Sexual Harrasment

A Poem by Emily Dickinson Jr.

How can you see me?

When I'm alone

The world is so cold

And you're losing hold

On all that you know

And all that you feel

Sometimes you just wish

That is wasn't so real

That unwanted kiss

That sniding remark

All too much hurt

Going

Straight toward the heart

Will it ever end?

That I know not.

But for now

I struggle to keep alight

My precious bright spark

A poignant read of how one may indeed receive the attentions of another that are clearly not wanted - and then, that is sexual harassment, no matter how the offender feels about it! Yes, one does struggle, but it is vital to keep alight that precious bright spark and most of all, protect it!!
(just a suggestion.....do you want the phrase "All to much hurt" to be with the word to, or too? I am not sure how you wanted the phrase to read" as it would be spelled the two different ways depending on your meaning of it, and we readers often interpret a writer's work in a different way than it was intended.)

Thank you so much I'm glad you liked it I wrote it during a lesson on sexual harrasment
I work in equality law (for my sins) so immediately attracted by the title. I think yoy have captured the essence of the emotions one feels when bullied or subjected to unwanted attention (here of the sexual nature). I hope you didn't actually have to endure this. I like the positive end.
