Better Than Before

Better Than Before

A Poem by Julie Beth
"

i'm not really sure if its good

"

She stands on the sandy shore

waves gently crash over the rocks

the moon is high

but the tide is low

mountains are visible

in the moon's distant light

She looks up to the sky

on this starless night

wishing he could see

what she could

A smile crosses her face

knowing that

where he is now

is better than

where he was

before

I like this, Julie. There's a sweet, loving thought wrapped in sensitive, clear language. I do that, too---see something beautiful and wish a loved one could see through my eyes.

Beautiful write! Great flow and alittle sad, but also a sense of happiness at the end!

Aww, so sweet! Is kind of sad, but so true! It's always better than before when you're in heaven. Oh, and I just wanted to let you know that in the second paragraph, last line you said see instead of she. So beautifully written! Great write! ;)

this poem sounds like a wife waiting for her husband to come home from a war and hoping that he's alright.

It seems so sad. And yet it's a happy sad at the same time. :)
