One who Cares

One who Cares

A Poem by Cricket Kidd
"

if you need a little optimism, read this poem. then act.

"
All the world walked out on me,
I thought my life would end,
Then one person decided to care,
And I found my new best friend.

The popular had turned away,
the rest just seemed to too,
But through my loneliness and sorrow
I looked, And I found You.

You gave me Hope, You gave me Life,
You gave me Smiles instead of Frowns,
You gave me Love, You gave me Laughter,
You gave me more ups than I had downs.

And through this, I had nothing to give,
I hope some time, some day,
to return to you what you gave me,
What I can never fully repay.

This is nice. The flow is very well done and I think that it adds to the charm of this piece. It is a very lovely tribute to a very important person. THe best part of this poem is that it is not too personal. Poems that get too personal leave the reader feeling left out and confused. This is the kind of poem that a lot of people can relate to and see it in their lives. Thank you for sharing! All the best!

I would flesh it out a bit more, but it's very nice. Last lines are a bit off, but oh well.

I agree with you completely. It only take one person to take the time to notice that a person needs help need love needs kindness. Take the time to notice if some one is crying out of help. This is a powerful eye opening piece even though it is short and simple. I personally think if it was longer it would take away the impact of the last few lines in this poem. I am glad someone took time to notice!

Sweet poem and great sentiment. To more personalize I would like to see or hear about specific experiences that relate to "all the world walked out on me" and what that feels like. Some of the lines here are a bit cliche. Also what happened when the person started to care. Was there a specific moment, action that occurred? The poem is sweet to read, but easy to forget because it is not specific. Nice rhyming.

I like it. Short and to the point. Not much to read, though. I would suggest adding some symbolism into this to make it even more meaningful. Although, I do think that you did a good job of adding power into the poem, starting with the first line. Not perfect, but I like it.
