Why did there have to be so many?
Clutching hand grenades aplenty.
Unafraid to pull the pins.
Invading my essence with their not-so-original sins.

Sin numbs us, maybe like eating the first forbidden apple, coating our tongues and lips in sugar. We like the taste, and maybe the chemical rush that comes with the fun of non-conformity.

It seems Thoreau has something to say about this subject. If only we could ask him in person...
