Shield

Shield

A Poem by Pete
"

A different kind of COVID mask

"
Woman wearing a black & silver mask | Beautiful mask, Masks ...

blurred by time
draped in remorse
fickle upon shifting sands

i see your tattooed mask
stilled sanguine lips
the number nineteen

eyes without a face
a sneak viral attack
masquerading as the love we once shared
gone without a trace

playing with fire
waving goodbye
beckoning come hither
i miss you
through touchless glass
