'Write-on' Man

70s Cool Guy Adult Costume - PureCostumes.com

with his 'fro all aglow
he shuffled in on platform shoes
covered in pubescent polyester
his bell-bottoms ringing like the liberty bell, complete with crack showin'

reeking of wanton weed
lookin' for a place to shake his botoxed bootie
"how come no one's spinnin' any vinyl?", he demanded to know

"where are all the chicks?", he further inquired, as he ordered a harvey wallbanger
he said "cool" so many times there was a chill in the air
with two fingers raised, he bid us "peace"

he left the same way that he came
in his vw bus painted with flowers
beads dangling from the rearview mirror
wobbly but far out

"who was that guy?", everyone asked
it didn't really matter
in a flash, he was gone
just like the groovin' seventies

right on
man

Sorry to burst your botox'ed booty, but botox did not become commercially available until 2002. Also, anyone who's a VW aficionado would groan at the use of "van" when we all know it's a VW BUS! Other than those 2 tweaks, you've pretty much thrown all the right hippie s**t into your groove. I love the bell bottoms ringing ("bell" -- very clever!) One more nit-pick . . . probably should be "reek" not "wreak"! Thanks for the magic carpet ride back to my favorites (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Such a nostalgia trip Pete. Really appreciated the images you posted. Reminded me of how ridiculous we all looked. Bell bottom flares and platforms, yes I was right there. Really put a smile on my face. Strange is fashion. Everyone wants to follow the crowd, everyone looked more or less the same. Hope all is OK with you. Keep safe.
