Aerialist (With A Nod And a Twist)

Aerialist (With A Nod And a Twist)

A Poem by Pete
"

It is better to have your head in the clouds, and know where you are... than to breathe the clearer atmosphere below them, and think that you are in paradise. - Thoreau

to and fro on a terse trapeze
diligently praying down upon my knees
up and down on a trampoline
clutching the uneven bars of an ugly scene
my heart walking a narrow balance beam
pinned down on the mat of acrobatics
emotions clutching the rings of stochastics
heavy steel, not flimsy plastics
anchored in the clouds by ecclesiastics

my days fall like matchsticks
not so limber pragmatics
some dull and wet
others inflaming
not name calling, just naming

blaming
shaming
claiming
maiming
defaming

at least i'm still here

aiming
taming
and

proclaiming
