Drunk on Your Flavour

Drunk on Your Flavour

A Poem by Puck

Wine stains so beautifully on your lips

with the first sip

I am drunk on your flavour

Like cherries washed in seawater

The bitterness only seeps through after

When I am sober

Salty wet without regret

Can a feeling distilled

lose its flavour with the added brine of time?

Very good use of words. Led the reader to many places. I like the ending. I like the poetry that asked questions. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I really appreciated the construction of this poem. It was glued together very effectively. The almost rhymes along with the actual rhymes create a psuedo-meter and gels nicely. Sexy and sweet at the same time.
