Atomic Beauty

Atomic Beauty

A Poem by Nic

A sunset in my eyes

The Cloud plumed up,
In its orange and yellow brilliance.
It was a beautiful scene.
A scene comparable to a sunrise,
Where the sun shines through the clouds.
But this was no sunshine.
It did not fill people with a sense of happiness.
It Frightened people.
A cool breeze begins to pick up,
Just like if you were at the beach.
Everything around sways.
As the cloud begins to move outward,
More and more come to see its beauty.
But as it comes closer,
People realize its firry hatred.
The flames of the cloud start to devour,
People and building in its path.
Gas fills the lungs of the young,
And no one can escape its wrath.
Once the attack from hell passes,
All that is left is a black, charred land.
For miles and miles,
There are piles of burned masses.
The once beautiful scene,
Has turned into a nightmare.

I honestly didn't like the comparison with sunset and sunrise. I think it's unnecessary and vague. However, I like the way you gradually created a picture of how sunset looks like. It made me look at it in a different light.

Magnificent picture and a lovely description. I'm lucky to see the rising sun in the morning from the front of my house and the setting sun in the evening at the back. I feel blessed.
