Jungle Love

Jungle Love

A Poem by Samuel Dickens
"

In a jungle juke joint, they're really jivin'!

"

Down in darkest jungle, the Congo Club was hoppin’

Moving to that crazy beat, the dancers were be-boppin’

Who would dance with Helen, her hippo hips a’shakin’?

Only Melvin Monkey, (He had no fear of breakin’)

They did the mashed potato and frisky Charleston, too

Then set their feet ablaze and kicked away their shoes

Melvin started groovin’ to that funky jungle beat

And spun his dancing partner on her big ol’ hippo feet

Showin’ off his muscles, and manly monkey flare

Melvin tossed big Helen right up into the air

Not floating like a feather, but falling like a stone

Helen fell on Melvin, breaking all his bones

Dancing is ok, I guess, but love is all that matters

Now Melvin lies in traction while Helen peels his 'nanners

Hey Sam. Ever listen to Louis Jordan? Well I think his spirit jumped into you when you were writing this. I really loved this and I think it's because every now and then I get a Louis Prima or a Muddy Waters or a Louis Jordan visit and write something completely silly and random and sit and wonder where the heck it came from. Great stuff. This is really so Louis Jordan-ish that I have no doubt you are a fan or his spirit possessed you. I love it!

Wow ! That must be why they call it break dancing ? Cause so done broked everything in him - and yah she better peel his nanners and other stuff affers all that ! :)

I head of the mashed potato dance from Disney's cartoon show, "The Replacements."

Do you really lie on your back to do it ?

I've seen things like this on America's Funny Home Vidios. The "dancing mishaps." Yuk, yuk! Poor guy. C.
