I said i loved you

I said i loved you

A Poem by Kakuzu (or so they call me)

I said I loved you

I whispered it in the dark

I treasured those words Like they were the songs of a lark

I sat and watched it grow day by day

I told you I loved you, but the words you just ignored

I said I loved you Could you love me? I prayed

You said you loved me

You watched me with your great brown eyes

You said you’d hold me

And we’d watch the world pass by

You said we’d be together for now and forever

You told me that there was no one else

You said you loved me

You’re real intensions could have never be portrayed

We loved each other

We took walks through the park

We kissed and hugged and told secrets in the dark

The days past without knowing how long It didn’t matter who else was there

We loved each other

To me you’d never lie T

ogether we were now, together we are forever

You said you went to a movie

You said you were with your friends

You never told me were you went afterwards

Though you never did lie

You said you’d met new people

And probably see them again

You said you went to a movie

When a strip joint afterwards you did fly

I never believed when they told me

You couldn’t do that to me

I thought we loved each other

You wouldn’t cheat on me

Not once, twice, three times four, or twelve like they said

Not with those strippers that you can easily get in bed

You could’ve gotten them pregnant like the news papers said

We loved each other no matter who was dead

You took me to a secret place

You said it was romantic

You promised that they all lied

The news papers, your friends

That you had never cheated

That no one you had killed

I didn’t know where we were going

But you said you loved me and that would do

That night you took my innocence

Something you knew I couldn’t give

That night you took my peace and harmony

With all the things you did

I knew right then that it was all true

That you had lied to me

I knew I’d been naïve

And that now my life could be through

You held that gun to my head

I preyed for death

You held that knife to my wrist

I asked for death

You wrapped that rope round my neck

I begged you for death

But death came to you

When a stray shot from the street below struck your perfect head

I said I loved you

As I kissed you cold check

I said I loved you

As I cried in the dark

I said I loved you

As I took up your gun

I said I loved you

With my last dying breath

They thought we loved each other

As they found our bodies the next day

They thought a Romeo and Juliet had been at play

They’ll never know the truth of that night

Of the screams and tears and hopes smashed in fright

Of my loved for you

And your greed for lust

But all that mattered was I loved you, together and forever
