Ritual

Ritual

A Poem by Kt

it became a ritual

that slicing and dicing of my own flesh

each cut digging deeper

searching for some deeper red

wounds will heal and scars will fade

this moment is the one that matters

I have to stay alive

one more cut and one more breath

I don't want to die

I think this piece brings into the forfront a very prevelant issue with in modern day cultures. It flows well and carries through with a smooth tempo.

The one question I would have to ask....
The last three lines were a bit confusing to me....I believe it indicates how while a person is living...It is only the pain of the cutting that brings them back to the "real world's" (I us the term loosely :)) level of feeling...Otherwise there is not. (If i'm close, or the meaning behind the last three lines is different..let me know...I'm curious.

Keep up the good work!

This is a real problem for many people. I like the title. I like the topic.

each cut digging deeper
searching for some deeper red

I don't like the word deeper used twice so closely together.
