lovin' peanut butter..

lovin' peanut butter..

A Story by em-em zaldivar

I used to hate peanut butter. I loved cheese. But there was this day when the only thing we had in the kitchen was peanut butter. Imagine how horrid must that have been for me. I had no choice because I was so starved to death at that moment. So I disdainfully made peanut butter sandwich. Guess what? I liked it.

When I think about it now, I can’t actually remember how I had the idea that it doesn’t taste good. Oh, it was absolutely delicious! It must have been a silly childhood mentality I had back then.

That’s when the quote from Charlie Brown comes in: “Nothing takes the taste out of peanut butter quite like unrequited love.”

I never loved peanut butter. But when I had a taste of it, I couldn’t get enough. I was constantly craving for it every time we have one at home. But I was happy with the cheese before. I was even happy even with tasty bread alone. Now what difference would it make if I had neither cheese nor peanut butter?

When I ask myself that question, the answer is actually a give away. It wouldn’t taste as good as when there is cheese and especially when there’s peanut butter.

What makes peanut butter similar to love? Hmmm.. Without it, life wouldn’t really taste that good.
