"A'Rising Reeling" Collaboration with Frieda

A Poem by Einstein Noodle
"

i am re-posting this oldie because i was asked to ... to keep dear friend Frieda in remembrance here at the Cafe' ..in the hope that she will one day come back to us .. peace and joy to all! <3

"
A'Rising Reeling

Have you looked square into the eye of death's dragon
whilst the sky was falling down in ember's shadow
fire burning blood mountain tops where god should be
butterfly wings clipped in the namesake of austerity

spelled Wyverns hording antiquity's gifts
even in sleep red eyes mesmerize
striking deaf and dumb all who so
foolishly dare fly into the lair on shivery aileron

skeletons in smoky closeted dust
prey upon the mind's placidity
graying the essence of coma's stake
suspended in lethargic dormancy

osteoporitic clickety clack
thighs calves and tendons rendered
under the leech bloat belly of Smaug
Puff never was real; Jackie Paper remains delusional

Loch Ness roars a Scottish highland's lullaby
murky bodies of water sync in disconnect
discontent of an allusion's regimented menagerie
Requiem's Mass hysteria hijacked greener pastures

'A Rising Reeling'
Einstein Noodle,
I was intrigued and inspired by this poem at the same time.
This one touches the reality of confusion and discouragement
-when hope is gone- when evil and or or chaos then fills hopes place.
The metaphors of dragons and the surrounding powers of darkness
swirl throughout this writing.
"Fire burning blood mountain tops where god should be
butterfly wings clipped in the namesake of austerity"
The thing that is so interesting and even lovely is to see
that it was a collaboration between two people which really played
well off each other and that is just plain cool. The whole peice was
stunning and I had to read it through several times. I also like the ending.
Loch Ness roars a Scottish highland's lullaby. The theme continues all through
of what is desired and comforting looked for but not found.
Impressive for sure!
Blessings,
Kathy

I just adore the fantasy themed mystery lying within this. Very exquisite! The pure elegance of each line swirling with each of your styles is pure magic. Well done guys.

I cannot get over this line. I love that song so much, and now I have to listen to it a million times. I really liked this collaboration between you two. It is different than what I have seen of Frieda's other collabs, which is cool because it is fun to see the different dimensions that writers bring out of one another. Anyway, the imagery in this was really fantastic. It gave off such an urgent, almost frantic feeling. The sky is falling and mountains are bleeding, the time to take cover is nigh.

obviously I am biased, but I enjoyed many of the lines in here. As 'the dragon' of WC, I cannot help but growl in contentment for lines such as "spelled Wyverns hording antiquity's gifts"; and the side of me that doesn't want to stay home, and instead terrorize and collect me some maidens can certainly relate with that last stanza... One suggestion however, instead of mountain top, try mountain's zenith, summit, apex... whichever, the point is, top is dull.

Thanks Rita, jazz'd you enjoyed.
A mystical, foreboding dark underworld where Hades himself rules and calls the shots, time to summon the legendary King Arthur and Excalibur to slay his woefully gruesome monsters !

A fine collaboration of foreboding fantasy, creatively conferred and conveyed !
