Clarity

Clarity

A Poem by Einstein Noodle

Irises seem to circle the wagons;
small tan bungee silk swirling.
Opiate agents responding as
tidal SWAT members retreat
Waves in grey green serene
tan blue misty hues .....
Pupils engaging pulse movements
wildly in dilatation ...undulations
"Q" music ... now!
Oxen toes spring to dance with
dragon fly wings singing
sixteenth notes on the swing beat
Lines of clarity are
drawn when eyes meet
curves of perfection ... arches of support.
(we see through glass dimly)
fighting friends draw closer
fighting enemies draw wary
Crisp leather snapping lids
with Jack Booted blinks and winks
whirling dust..... ballet bunnies ....
desperate ......in escaping the sweep
dancing, bouncing, twirling to
hide in plane sight ......... out of sight .......under your bed
Hear the drone of cicadas?
Wearying, laden lashes
grey lead rolls back white orbs
pin striped with blood red
drift now in endless lines of division.

It was your very last line ...

'drift now in endless lines of division.'

... that gave me all the clarity. In fact, it all came tumbling down in a mist of life ... all life ... each swirling microscopic tangent in thought and time gathered up in that very last line ...

a perfect so perfect crescendo you may me smile wide upon reading it :D

This cries for a soundtrack and be spoken aloud. It is full of interesting, convoluted phrases that seem to fit exactly into the jigsaw meaning. Indeed the words seem to seek their own species of clarity.

Black walnuts come in hard and convoluted shells, but they sure are good eating if you can get it cracked...worth the trouble if you got a taste for it. You, sir, you got the taste for it :) Epically E!

dear E... since you are a medical person, I respect your poetry even more... My husband Roger needs cataract surgery in both eyes and is in the care of the McGuire Veterans hospital. Now they have discovered that he has a clot in the artery behind his right eye. His doctor said, if he has surgery there is a one in six thousand chance, he could lose his sight. Roger has chosen not to have the surgery. Your poetry has encompassed my heart with understanding. truly, Pat

Your clarity flows so well, once we let everything around us fade into the background and see, with virgin eyes. I keep getting drawn back to the fourth verse, which could be a poem in itself. "Lines of clarity are
drawn when eyes meet curves of perfection ... arches of support.(we see through glass dimly)This speaks volumes to me. I shall return to review properly, once I have digested this properly. But I shall be leaving very impressed with your words :)

interesting how clarity brings division even though division brings chaos...and we so often just see what we want to see...and blur what we need to blur...

i like your blending of humor into this write...your talent abounds in so many areas of poetry...astounding stuff. E.

Having recently had both cataracts removed, I can now fully appreciate being able to see for yards again & what a darn delight it is to take a glimpse and consider these splendid words of yours.

I particularly like the seamless flow & the tantalizing imagery you lay out for those of us here to linger over and later most probably ruminate upon. There is a certain clarity here, but I wonder whether when I revisit, as I fully intend to do, I shall see the same things, or whether my perceptions and interpretations will be led in a different direction.

Darn good in any book...........................Cheers, N
