The Day I Saw the Sun

The Day I Saw the Sun

A Poem by Relvester
"

this ones a little more depressing, break-ups are always tough to go through but evetually, everything will be okay

"

counting the tiles on the ceiling

searching for every crack

gazing amazed at the dust particles, thats a fact

it's a beautiful day out the window

but i'd rather lay in bed

lost in a daze as the rays of the sun hit my back

from days and months to a year

i've locked myself in this cave

alone and afraid,

cause she tore my heart in two

so then i took a knife

and put it to my chest

then carved out my heart and locked it in a box

so i'm stuck in this bed

no thoughts pass through my head

but a single tear escapes from my eye

and it's screaming her name

for once i look outside my window

and i see your pretty face

and all of a sudden there was a beating from my box

as my heart began to race

Cupid fired his Love arrow

and it got me to my feet

you were smiling and waving from just across the street

i ran outside my door

i could not wait to meet you

with my heart in my hand i took each step with a smile

to greet you

from that day on

we walked hand in hand

until the day i put a diamond on your finger

attached to a silver band,

and i said

'Baby you're my everything,

i Love you.

you saved me from myself, i owe you my life

and if you'll take me

I'm forever yours.'
