Not Quite a Love Story

When asked what I love about him, and what he loves about me, here's what we got.

Mine to Him

As something major I see you

There's life in your eyes

Joy in your soul

A song in you're throat

That I'll help you sing

No matter my problem

You fix it

With a smile a hug, a kiss on the cheek

You're my rock, my shoulder to lean

My perfect darling

You know who I am

What I am not

You make me better

Than I ever thought

I never know how much you'd mean

But now I can't live without you

I know I'll always love you

For the wonderful man you are

And for all you will become

Know I'm always here for you

As you are there for me

I adore you

My best friend

 

His to Me

As something major I see you

Where the inertia of doubts

And gravity of love

Keeps pushing you down

I see you as very mature, wondering

That has doubts about life

Which is always pushing you

Further away from everyone

You have the knowledge

Of a person who has lived through more

But you know everything

They ever knew, and more

You are like a book

You have learned so much

And there is still so much more to know

But, still, you are so fragile

Yet stronger than I imagine

Because you always hold hope

And always keep love

I loved this poem. It is the other face of how friendship is and could be. I think it is very different from many I have read but that is the very reason I really loved it. This was very well written. I am already looking forward to your next. Great Job!
