Colors

A Poem by rachielle

The pieces of my life

Fit together like

A 10,000 piece

Do-it-yourself puzzle

But I can’t put it up

On the wall once it’s done

(Once it’s done)

Coz it’s black and white

With all the irrelevant stripes

And I’m ashamed to say

I haven’t done it my way

Chorus:

Color my life

Red is my strength

Blue is my sorrow

Yellow is my happiness

Color my life

Only you can save me

From this black and white

Only you can color my life

Could you paint the pages

Put on a little black and blue

With some neon pink hue

Because the colors

Won’t embrace me

The gift isn’t mine

So can you finish

The artwork for me

Put on some color

Make it how it’s supposed to be

(How it’s supposed to be)
