Love Poem

Love Poem

A Poem by Ramsey's Rebellion
"

This poem is about how lies seep into our poems of love and mask the truth of the object of our affection.

"
I could write dramatic poesy,
print words to paint pictures
potent in partial half formed truth.

I could write of longing, stirring,
my desire unchecked
and ravaging my every thought.

I could pen mountains,
chisel promises in stone,
and proclaim eternity to the wind.

I could build you up with hollow words
scripted in an ever changing water.
Instead, I'll tell the truth--

the flaws, fights, and inconsistencies,
the monotony of day to day,
the price of commitment,
of love.

every love is a different love. every love is flawed, as it should be, and i think that with your honesty you really conveyed that. so, thanks.

I love how you took a truthful approach to a love poem and didn't fill it with false and fluffy comparisons. It has a great cadence to it too. Nice work!

Love and ease of how these words flow together along with the truthfulness of the poem itself. Love isn't all flowers and fluttery feelings. It's real and at times it's a challenge.
