Lessons In Love: Had I known

Lessons In Love: Had I known

A Poem by Rainee Whiting

...had I known that was the last time I would ever see him, I would have waited long after sunrise to leave the bed, just to lay listening to him breathe. I would have sipped by coffee slower, and found reason to delay breakfast. Had I known that was the last time I would ever see him, I would have memorized each line of his face, the flecks of silver in his sapphire eyes. Had I known that was the last time I would ever see him, I would have told him that I love him.
