I tried

I tried to forget you,

each time in thought you crept.

I tried to not see you,

there in my dreams as I slept.

 

I tried to not feel you,

in each beat of my heart

I tried to move on,

life without you I tried to start.

 

I tried to let go,

of what was and could never be.

I tried to convince myself,

you had forgotten me.
