Geists

Geists

A Poem by Allison

You look at me with eyes of purest stone

Your face is pale with no emotion now

Your skin, so grey with age and pain alone

You’re cries are heard by those across the lough

They listened to your whispers, so enticed.

You spoke of dreams that swam in fantasy

But all was ruined by malicious geist

What fear he carried, not a man could see

Your past has got you in a twist of chains

How much of this can you now truly bare?

The despair that you feel runs through your veins

And the anger you hold floods the thick air

You stand here now, your stone cold eyes are shut

Don’t think about the past, it’s all been cut.
