Starved Stomachs

Starved Stomachs

A Poem by Raj Sahu
"

This poem shows the dark side of humanity and the bad effect of poverty.

"

The eyes were constantly searching,
Searching for the food to quench the appetite.
But the stony passers were ignoring
the hungry mouths, imagining of a bite.

Poverty has become an antagonist,
In the story of starved stomachs.
Each character and himself the protagonist
Just thinks and their thumbs they suck.

The eyes shed bitter tears
And their hearts complained to the Lord,
"O Almighty! Are we lacking in prayers
or had done the deeds so abhorred?"

Unbeatable crying, but still lives the hope
And it will live until breaks the life's rope.

Very moving
Hunger seems to be all around us where ever we live and travell
Old people here
Do they spend money on eating or Heating
They live in cold houses temperatures below freezing wearing hats, coats and gloves.
Food from the "Food Bank"

I couldn't...............you know it's like sits on your mind when you read something dreadful like this..
The image and poem brought tear in my eyes.....but unfortunately my tears can't fill their dreadful hunger. If it could I would've cried to my last!!

Thanks a lot Tahsin! May Lord feed the hungry mouths! Amen.
A moving write. It is hard to fathom with so much wealth in the world that some people starve to death. And foreign aid often doesn't reach the very people it is meant to help due to corruption in governments. We even have food banks in the UK. When I see images of starving children it makes me appreciate how much I have. Thank you for the read.

Thank you so much.
So many starving and suffering- I cannot understand how the people that have a part to play in this devastation can sleep at night- and how people throw good away or don’t eat leftovers when all I can think of is that small bit of food can save a life - so grateful I am for every piece of food to eat- wonderful words- emotions running deep🌹

Seeing precious few grammar problems, Raj. Looks good from here. Tearful story. We all have control over each life we add or decide not to add on the planet.

I worked for 12-years in a Food Bank preparing food for others. That's the wisdom that was imparted to me during that time ...

Thank you!
it has always been a social problem especially in third world countries and because of the greed of the materialists worldwide it remains unsolved and i just wonder what is the motive behind social responsibility and sustainable development proposed by rich countries?
