Starved Stomachs

Starved Stomachs

A Poem by Raj Sahu
"

This poem shows the dark side of humanity and the bad effect of poverty.

"

The eyes were constantly searching,
Searching for the food to quench the appetite.
But the stony passers were ignoring
the hungry mouths, imagining of a bite.

Poverty has become an antagonist,
In the story of starved stomachs.
Each character and himself the protagonist
Just thinks and their thumbs they suck.

The eyes shed bitter tears
And their hearts complained to the Lord,
"O Almighty! Are we lacking in prayers
or had done the deeds so abhorred?"

Unbeatable crying, but still lives the hope
And it will live until breaks the life's rope.

Very moving
Hunger seems to be all around us where ever we live and travell
Old people here
Do they spend money on eating or Heating
They live in cold houses temperatures below freezing wearing hats, coats and gloves.

Grammar problems? I hadn't noticed any and c'mon, its poetry, most the time we just find what rhymes and go with it, lol. As for the topic, very true and very real. Starvation is horrible and many don't quite understand exactly what it entails. You've captured that aspect greatly and this bursts with emotion and questions asked unanswered. Brilliant work.

Thanks from the core of my heart.
Your poem is very important for the starving people. Many organizations strive to alleviate their suffering. The situation has become untenable. Endless wars, crocked governments, disasters, and other events are worse then in the recent pass. Your efforts to keep people aware are an effective method of reminding people. Prayer is the most effective method, To save their souls.

Well, Damn! Great job. You expose the truth, just like Agonizing Clarity. We'd make a startling combo. Anyways, keep up the amazing work!

It's sickening to think there are people who have more money than they know what to do with, while others are homeless/starving. Well written.

Thank you!
I like it. I feel like it could be read in two ways- the obvious, about literal hunger- but also one could reflect inward and read it as an internal hunger. Like how we are always searching for something and begging others to fill the void.

Your welcome
"O Almighty! Are we lacking in prayers
or had done the deeds so abhorred?"

This is the question asked by so many ... "Why?".

Good and beautiful souls are hungry whilst those who do so much wrong in the world have everything. if each affluent person could support one starving child the world would be a better place ..
