pneumatic sander. This sander is used to smooth welding joints, remove rust and strip paint from the metal. They are also used for more delicate jobs such as leveling and finishing wood tables. The use of pneumatic sander reduces the energy, effort and time spent on fabrication and construction jobs.

Types of pneumatic sanders

Pneumatic belt sanders are ideal for removing rust, paint and metal shards. A loop of sandpaper is wrapped continuously around two rollers. A belt sander works by the rapid rotation of the sandpaper. They are used in heavy duty jobs to remove large extraneous surfaces. The belt sander is the best in performing the larger tasks like smoothening out decks and wood floors. We can get hand held or stationary belt sanders.

Pneumatic orbital sanders are light weight and portable as compared to the belt sanders. They are ideal for smoothing delicate surfaces and edges. They are operated by spinning a sandpaper disc at different speeds. Pressure levels can be controlled in the pneumatic sander which can also be used in automobiles.

The pneumatic sanders do not need recharging and the wastage of energy is lesser as compared to the other power tools. As an electric tool requires a lot of voltage, a battery sander can only be used till the battery drained. Pneumatic sander on the other hand requires electricity only to re pressurize its air tank.

Before making a decision on purchasing a pneumatic sander consider different specifications that suit your requirements. The sander should be compatible with the air compressor. Most of the hoses of a compressor are provided with universal joints, where as certain sanders need separate connectors. In addition some sanders need more pressure or power than others.

Pneumatic sanders are lighter and last longer than the electric sanders as they do not have motors. They are cheaper and powerful too. Battery and electric sanders are the best options for the hobbyists and daily woodworkers as they are available in affordable prices and are easy to use.

A few recent sander models come with dust collectors. Pneumatic sander is not practical for the hobbyists or for the daily woodworkers as it requires a big compressor. Pneumatic sander is especially useful and beneficial for the industrial woodworks due to the enhanced efficiency they offer.
