my light

A Poem by linda m. crate
"

A sappy yet bittersweet love poem.

"
your azure eyes
torn from the sky
smile over me happiness
no one else ever
could; there was a joy i could
remember once before you
lost to some ocean
in a moon of a world i can no
longer recall, and i wouldn't want to
because you're the cause
of my brightest spark
shining within in me the brighest light "
the one that convinces me to
lock all the titans within me confessing
all the evils i could pursue to be
quiet for the rest of eternity;
you silence in me all the darkness
itching to steal away my fire
making me to strive to be a better person
someone you can be proud of,
to suffer you not the sorrows of the
arrogant or the proud,
but the purity of stars shimmering their
quiet eloquence into the sky.

Thank you! I think that's probably my favorite line, as well. Thanks for the feedback, Nkosana.
