Choreography in the Carpet

Choreography in the Carpet

A Poem by Robert L.

The slithery curves in the carpet

From my seated perspective seem

To be an ordered pirouette

Graphing from some ballerina’s dream.

One view may yield a human curve,

Another yield one aviary.

Like tufty cumulus few observe

The same forms even when they tarry.

I suppose when she awakens

The ballerina’ll ascertain

Smiling faces or fish’s fins---

Not her minuet still a playin’.

i was married to a dancer...there were many curves in the relationship...and we were balancing often like on a pirouette.

there were both smiling faces and fishes' fins..

this is smooth and the rhyme almost unnoticeable...which i really like, not being much of a rhyme fan, unless it feels natural...yours does.
